Dolls, Dolls and dolls

These dolls have kept me busy all week. Some are St Patricks day, Easter, spring and a couple are everyday.

This is a new one that I did , she stand alone and I have "faith " on her apron.

Another new kind of Annie, she is "Hope"

Cold weekend.....creating new dolls

It is a cold weekend here in Wisconsin. A good one to stay indoors and create. I have a pile of dolls that I am working on, these are some of the ones I finished up.This one is going to get shipped out tomorrow.

It was a special order for a wonderful new friend. She has a Etsy shop called the

I am making spring dolls and I wanted to try a bunny for a raggedy ann doll. This is what I came up with.

She is all ready for Spring.

Then I did up these mini raggedy dolls too. They are only 5 inches. They could be tucked in just about anywhere.

You could tuck them into another dolly's arms to hold.

Put them on a wreath, anywhere you have a small place.

I love how mini and cute they are. Guess I have to do some up in spring dresses!!
As I sit and create these dolls my 11 year old daughter Erika, joins in with her own creating. These days she is into duck tape. She is making wallets...
This one for me...

These are hers, a wallet and she is trying ipod cases out too.

She is not sure if she likes her first attempt at the ipod cases, she is going to try it a different way she tells me. She also did a wallet with the splash paint for a friend at school but it got away without a picture taken.....lol

So that has been the weekend around here.
Fun and relaxing.

Oh have I missed doing new backgrounds. I just have not been able to sit at the computer long enough these days but this Sunday I found some time...and it feels wonderful.I have been wanting to change mine for awhile and this is what I came up with today.

Dolls and new treasures from a dear friend

I finished up some of those naked dolls that I showed in this post.

Five of them are on there way to their new home and I listed the remaining two on ETSY
I am working on the other dolls and almost have them finished, hope to post pictures soon.
I finally have all my Christmas decorations down. I was able to do that yesterday between all my running. Monday and Tues are the days I have a little extra time. I even took down my snowmen this year. I usually leave them up till Feb but my heart is not into it this year. Maybe next year.
I wanted to show you all what a dear family friend gave me the other day. I love the Amish couple...

And this little lantern is my favorite. It only stands 3 inches tall. It use to hold hand lotion many years ago.

Well I am off to work on those dolls before I have to leave for awhile. Take Care

Some new fabric....

This past Monday, my hubby had the day off of work, which is a very rare thing .. actually he had the last two Mondays off because of the holiday, which was so nice having him off those days. Anyways he knew that I have been wanting to go over to Joann Fabrics which is over in Wausau (40 miles give or take) so he said lets go for a ride. :)
So I was able to pick out some new fabric.....

Erika picked out the Snoopy , Charlie Brown fabric. She just had to have it....LOL
I picked out a couple of homespun fabric also, but I forgot to add them to the photo.

So now I have been busy sewing these....

And even a few more. So soon maybe you will see some of that new fabric on some of these naked dolls.

To the New Year

Almost a full day in of the New Year . I seen the new year come in with my favorite people to hang out with....my hubby and all my kids. We went down to my oldest and spent the night there.

We sure did miss them on Christmas , so it was wonderful being together this weekend.

And these photos are my Santa's that my mother had painted each Christmas for years. She would paint one each for her 3 daughters, 3 daughter in laws, and sometimes for the grandchildren as they got older.

They are very special to me and someday I will share them with my own kids.
These cute angel girls were my husbands grandma's. I always loved them , they are so cute and red is my favorite color so I put them out each Christmas.

Kids have one more day of vacation and I am getting back to sewing and cleaning out my craft room. Thought about taking before and after photos of the craft room but we will see.

I am still here....

I can't believe how long its has been since my last post.. :)
Lots of things have happened since then. A good friend of my husband and I took a fall and at 95 it has slowed him down.He did not break anything but now he needs a walker. He has always been a very active 95 year old man so it has been hard on him to ask for help. He is a dear sweet friend who is like family to us. So my van has been making lots of trips between his house, my moms house,seeing Dr's, and all mine and their errands....lol

When I do have some time at home I have been decorating .....some of my favorite ornaments

There are lots more but that would be way to many photos.

Went to Erika's and Andrew Christmas programs..

They both did a wonderful job!!

Baking cookies and cleaning house this week and it is flying by way to fast.
I have a few more photos to share around the house but that will be another post. It is late and I am heading off to bed.

I have had a very busy week that has kept me away from home most of the time but when I am home I find myself working on some more free backgrounds for christmas but, So far noting I am doing I like yet...lol So I have a mess of graphics, backgrounds in a file that I need to clean out.

Getting cold around here, just right for these snowmen

Today was windy and cold. Cold enough for snow. None came down which makes me happy because I am so not ready for the white stuff yet. The only kind of snow I like are these cute snowmen that I finished up last night.

I listed them over on Etsy.
Last night was a crafting night around here. As I finished up my snowmen, Erika my 11 year old was sewing up some ipod holders.

This is her with her niece , my granddaughter, Rachel.

She made a few for classmates at school and I told her if she keeps it up , I might just list some for her over on Etsy. She loves to create and it is fun helping and watching her.

Puffy snowman

I did up these cute puffy snowmen ,

I had started them last year, one of those finish me projects. :)

It was hard to get a good picture of them.

They are short and puffy....about 4 1/2 inches tall. Snowman are fun to make and I like to decorate with them all winter long. I have some chenelle fabric and I am going to try a few of these guys with that too!

A friend had posted those words yesterday and little did I know that I would be dancing in the rain later in the day. My 11 year old daughter is once again struggling with bullies, being treated like a social outcast. As a mother that is one of the hardest things , your heart cries. I hope someday soon we can turn a new page for her and she can enjoy life like a 11 year should. She is off at school and I can't stop thinking about her and hoping and praying for a good day. I want to keep her home but I know I can't. The sad thing is I sent her to this school a christian school. Little did I know....:(

The weather here has been so nice, it has been hard to stay indoors and sew. But I have been and I listed a few things today on Etsy.
I did up a thanksgiving raggedy Ann..

Some primitive wall hangings/ or wreath banners....

And a new Santa Star ornie/bowl filler that I sewed up with this red swirl flannel that I found in my fabric cupboard.

Oh how I love to go into that cupboard and look threw my stash. I bet some of you know exactly what I mean. :)
I have some more new Annie's sewn up. I did them in Christmas/winter prints. It is a new patten that I have never done before and I had fun sewing them up. Hope to list and share those with you tomorrow.

Pixie Pumpkins

I finished my Pixie Pumpkins yesterday and just listed them over on Etsy. They were fun to do , a change from the raggedy dolls.

I listed them over on Etsy this morning. I am working on a new raggedy doll pattern that I have never done and hope to have pictures to share soon.
We have been having some wonderful weather here this past week. Sunny and nice warm temps. I was walking out in my backyard yesterday and found this cool mushroom

Haunted Pumpkin sticks, I finally finished them!

I finally finished these haunted pumpkin sticks

I started them last fall and set them aside. I had plans to finish them up right away in Jan or Feb. :) Did not happen...lol but it feels good to have finished them now. Mark another unfinished project off the list.
We had a nice labor day weekend. Stayed home and just took it easy.
The school year for the kids has started out good and I set some goals with Andrew. Autism has me learning right along with him. He struggles with reading so I hope to work hard at it with him. If any of you have suggestions I would love to hear them. Oh those math facts too!! :)
Between kids, homework, everyday stuff, taking care of my dear mom, I find that crafting relaxes me. It is my time to forget about it all.

I have been having fun sewing and finished up some dolls... will start listing them on etsy today.

These are my favorite dolls to make lately but I am doing up a new doll pattern and I can't wait to show you. It is always fun to try something new.
Summer is winding down and we are getting ready for school to start Sept 1st.

I hope I have everything they need. We still need to label everything and I think one of the kids still needs gym shoes. Hope to finish it all up this weekend. Sometimes I wish that I could home school them but I know that I just could not do it. I stress and worry enough already!! :)

Keeping busy with garden, dolls,flowers and kiddo's

The garden has been keeping me busy , weeding, enjoying the fresh food, and canning these... I have been sewing up some dolls and hope to finish then sunday or monday.. The kids are enjoying the last couple of weeks of summer vacation. Have not done the school supplies shopping yet. I really dread doing it each year. You have this list of items and it just gets more each year it seems. So many color notebooks and folders, loose leaf paper, pens, pencils, markers, rulers , .... the money adds up fast, if you know what I mean. Someone left me a comment saying the sunflower background was not working and I checked it out and it is working for me. Not sure maybe it is there blog but I checked it out and know that it is working for anyone who wants it . It is back in my older post. Someday I plan to have a link to all backgrounds and buttons.....when I find a free minute or too!! :) I will leave you with a few of my flowers and a cute dragon fly that has been hanging out in our backyard for the last month or so.that

Hello everyone! I am finally back to sewing a little and here are two new dolls that I finished.

I do have 2 other dolls finished but no pictures to share. Andrew turned 8 on the 10th of July and had a wonderful birthday His two favorite colors are pink and green, so I had pink flowers on it which he thought was wonderful!! His Dad had a great time teasing him about pink flowers...LOL. So my days are flying by with the kids home for summer. I hope to keep working on fall items each day. Going to be a hot week ahead. Just trying to stay cool. Colleen

Summer has finally come here.... not much creating going on. The kids keep things busy around here, and we are trying to enjoy the the good weather when we can. I did finish some dolls and hope to have pictures soon. I did this background awhile back and finally am posting it to share with you all. A different kind of creating has been going on around here....flowers, garden

These are flower seeds that Andrew wanted to plant. He checks on them everyday. I hope they keep growing and growing.. The garden, not much happening there yet , except for the weeds...lol My blackberries....I can't wait to have one!

I think the white blossoms are so pretty.

When I have not been working on that there is the day today stuff like laundry... Just one load today. But when I find a little time to sit, if the weather is nice this is my favorite place to sit and unwind....

Finally, I did get some sewing done the last couple of days.... And one last thing, I hate to ask for myself but if you could would you send a prayer or two my way. I went in for a yearly test yesterday and they called this morning to have me come back for some more testing. I am trying not to worry much about it, because worry does no good. I read this somewhere and this is what I am trying to do "Pray, Don't Worry". I think it is good advice. Hugs Colleen

I hope you all are enjoying this Memorial weekend. Hope the weather is good and if you are traveling that you travels are safe. I am spending it with all of my kids, and my granddaughter Rachel. I can't wait to see her! Here is a picture of my Mom's apple blossom tree. It is so pretty right now. Some of Mom's flowers in bloom... I did get some stars sewn up this week, just no pictures of them yet. And one of the best parts of the past week was the package I received from Cyndy over at Crafty Stitchers blog. I won her giveaway and I am so happy I did. This is my first bag holder and she is wonderful. Cyndy sews beautiful and her doll is so cute. Thank you Cyndy for having such a wonderful giveaway!!!

I have been missing lately from the computer. I have tried to keep up with all my favorite blogs but not much time for blogging. So if you wondering what I have been up to, well I have been spring cleaning the whole house and then I decided to have a garage sale. Garage sales are so much work!! I had a wonderful Sunday. We celebrated my youngest son Andrew's 1st communion. I am so proud of him I love this picture.. waiting so hard at times.... Picture time So happy to receive Jesus... My kids... Afterwards it was time spent with family over food and cake. We had Andrew's cake and we also celebrated Erika's 11th birthday a day early with ice cream cake. I have not been crafting much the last couple of weeks. I am trying to spring clean my house. I hope to get back crafting soon. Colleen

It seems like the more busy you are , just sometimes you get more done. Even though my family keeps me busy , and taking care of my Mom it seems like I have been getting some dolls done. I even have a few bunny's coming soon... This first raggedy doll was fun to work on. I love her smile!! This smaller raggedy Annie is one of my favorite patterns to do. I love the paisley print fabric. Tomorrow will be a busy day, my oldest sister has to have gallbladder surgery and I will be spending time with Mom. All this before the kids get home from school and then it will be no rest for awhile either. LOL Life is full, but life is good! Maybe I will get to take pictures of the bunnies to share tomorrow. Winter is still here in north central Wisconsin. This is what it looked like outside this morning..... I know the calendar says it is spring but someone forgot to tell old man winter to head home. We even starting decorating for spring... Looking at the bunny with all that snow , makes me think it should be santa hanging in the window!!! :) Oh well lets hope it melts fast and I will see some spring flowers soon!!

What happened to Monday? It went by so fast... the morning was filled with laundry , then off to my Mom's house, then off to my part time job that pays those extra bills that come up with kids...like Andrews dentist appointment today. He's appointment was at 3 which took 1 hour and then off to get Erika, get back home just in time to make some supper. Homework is done , baths are too. Now I can sit and wonder were did the day go? :) My son called today and my precious little granddaughter has pneumonia. We were down on the weekend and celebrated her 1st birthday ( it is on Thur the 3rd). I hope and pray she gets well fast. Grandma will be calling every day to check in on her. Trying to post all week

I have been trying to find the time to post all week. It is always busy but this week just is flying by and I have found it hard to find the time at the computer. Mostly the time has come at the end of the day and I am to tired to write. Well last weekend was so nice.....we went and spent the weekend with my oldest son.His birthday was on the 19th and so we went down on the weekend to celebrate. Don't you love the Green Bay Packer cake.That was a fun day...birthday cake and watching the game with all my kids. And we won!! That also means I could hang out with my one and only precious little granddaughter Rachel It is hard to believe that she will be 1 year next week. I get to go spend more time with her again this coming weekend because she is having her 1st birthday party. Then monday evening Erika had her honors choir concert and they did a wonderful job singing. I am always busy each week helping take care of my Mom,visting a dear old friend of ours who is like family, homework, crafting when I can ( which is not much lately) and trying to clean the house. Oh then there are those loads of laundry!! It just seemed more this week. :) I did do up the new template background last week or the week before(can't remember any more) and never posted it yet. I went shopping

I went shopping last weekend and then also on Monday and I found a few treasures .... Not many but I love what I found. The old coffee pot fits in with my white enamel one that I already have .... The glass candle holder, I placed it here next to my old milk bottle and milk carrier I only paid 50 cents which made the buy even better! I have had this old milk glass bottle for a few years now and I love it.... Phlox was a creamery in my area and I grew up with it. It also is a small small town that my mother grew up in, her parents, my family roots. The spoon will probably show up in one of my craft creations and the glass candle holder I am not sure yet what room I am putting it in. Still thinking about that. I have been cleaning out my craft space and going to start on a few closets , cabinets, it feels good to get some clutter out of the house. Not much else you can do on these cold Jan days!!

When I opened my window shade this morning this is the frost that was on my window. Living in a older home and cold Wisconsin weather makes for frosty windows. I just thought it was a really neat design and wanted to share with you.

I just wanted to post that Mom is doing well. Her surgery went ok. Now it is rest and healing. It is good to have that much over with and we will be going to Dr's next week to move forward. Thank you all for the prayers! I have been cleaning out my craft space and I need to craft instead of clean so I pulled out the sewing machine and sewed for awhile.I started some hearts and hope to be able to list them tomorrow. It feels good to craft again. I will be back to cleaning tomorrow. Colleen

It is Monday and back to school for the kids, and back to work for me. I am cleaning up my craft room so I can start some new projects soon. It just might take awhile to get that room back together. I am thinking of taking before and after pictures to share with you all. Just have to warn you it is a mess! I want to ask all my friends and blogging friends if you could add my Mom into your prayers. She is having surgery tomorrow. It is for cancer. This is a picture from her birthday last May...she turned 83. Not sure where this road with my Mom with take me and my family but I know that God will be right along side walking with us. I can't believe that christmas is almost here. Been busy cleaning up some of the crafting mess that was all over the house , christmas cards, trying to keep up on all the things happening with the kids at school, and all the day to day things . Andrew had his school christmas program and it was nice to sit and watch . I could just relax and enjoy it. Andrew is the second boy , with the dark "Mario" shirt on. It is fun to watch these kids really get into singing the songs. I was the only one able to attend Andrew's program this year but we all will be attending Erika's next week. We woke up to a blanket of white snow, and it has been snowing all day. Here are a few pictures of our winter wonderland today. Hi....been busy with family matters

Hi everyone. Just a short post today. I have been busy but not with crafting or Christmas stuff.... lots of family issues. My sister had surgery on Tue, it went well and now its 6 weeks of recovery. I have 2 sisters and the 3 of us take care of our Mom. The sister that had the surgery on Tue does a lot with my Mom and now me and my other sister are taking full time with Mom. My Mom has issues of memory and does not cook and all the other things you do each day. My Mother will also be having surgery on Jan 4th for breast cancer. And last but not least my dear sweet Mother in law is having health problems and is back in the hospital for the 3rd time. There has been one wonderful blessing from God, my sister that had the surgery caught her cancer early and it looks like a good out come for her. Thank you God!! I have one sweet picture to share, last Saturday Grandpa and Grandma got to watch our dear sweet granddaughter Rachel. She was not to sure about going to sleep at Grandma and Grandpa's so Grandpa held her and cuddle with her till she went to sleep!! I will be having a giveaway coming up this week , so watch for it!

Christmas Angel Dolls ....and my halloween

My Christmas Craft shows starts today and goes till Nov 17th. I will be adding new stuff each week. You can find a link to it over on the right side bar. I have been wanting to post all week after halloween but time is flying by. I finished these Christmas Angel Dolls yesterday. This one has a red cardnial print dress.. And this one is a white with a christmas print on it... I think everyone one needs angel watching over them! I will be listing them on my Christmas Craft show or on Etsy. The past weekend was really nice and the kids enjoyed halloween. We carved pumpkins Friday night. Then on Sunday we went down to my oldest house and let them trick or treat there. A basket of dolls

Well, I finished those dolls that I mention back in this post. It's funny how when you work on them, you love the one your working on and then the next one and next one.

Some of the dolls have button eyes and the other's are painted on. I did some with winter dresses and other's everyday. Now they are ready to go to new homes. These are some snowmen that I finished up. The snowman face I am thinking about doing a wreath with it but not sure yet. There are gingerbread men in the works, more snowmen, some angels and more surprise's on the sewing table. I listed the santa ornies that I posted about here. You can find them on Etsy ,or Ebay. Apple pie...

Don't you just love the smell of fresh Apple pie baking in the oven? This morning after getting the kids off to school I baked an Apple pie to give to a friend of ours. It always makes the house smell so good... The apples I received from a friend who has lots and lots of apples. I baked a pie for us earlier in the week , made apple crisp, and froze some and then to use the last of them up I bake this pie to give to a friend. When the pie was baking I did some cleaning and then crafted on these naked dolls. As you can see I did not get to far on them. Then I had a hair appointment in the afternoon, and deliver some papers before 3 when the kids are done with school. Erika, was looking at all my fabric I have and wanted me to make a baby bib last night.When she got home from school she asked if I had then finished. LOL I had started but they were not finished. This is the finish bibs. I don't even remember buying that fabric but it is so cute. One bib is for a mystery baby that she wants to give to.I think it might be her teachers baby :). I will find out on Monday when she gives it. The other she wants to give to this precious girl...Rachel My first grandbaby, and Erika's first niece. I'm seeing Santa's

I have been busy sewing the last couple of weeks. I did up some snowmen but forgot to take a picture of those. LOL I think it's because I have Santa on my brain... These are cute Santa ornies that I have finished. I will list some on Etsy or at my website to if you would be interested in them. I also am having a christmas show coming up so I have some for that. I am hoping to have some sales this holiday season. Things have been really tight around here with money the last couple of years. My hubby works hard 50 to 60 hours a week, always has. The last 2 years his wages have been cut by 15,000.00 and it has been hard to keep ahead of the game.( no raise in 4 years)He still is working the same long hours or maybe even longer because he has to do other jobs that need to get done.. It is catching up with us.We have had to cut back on things ,I even picked up delievering papers.I don't make much money at it but I save it so that when those dentist appointments come up for the kids we have the money to pay for them.(no dental insurance) If hubby had more hours in the day I know he would work at another job but long hours at his main job and trying to make time for his kids, there are only so many hours in a day.He is the kind of guy that always makes we (his family) get what we want. He is last on his list. For example he is driving the same Ford truck now for 20 years, lets just say it is not looking to well these days.20 years, its been a good truck. I try to make extra with my crafts but last year I had cataract surgery on both eyes and things went down hill from there. I have had health issues and test run and lets just say I still fight each day to get back to my old self. Stress and worry runs a soul down. Today is one of those days that we all have that you can't seem to stop stressing out about it and worrying. I have improved over handling the worry and stress a lot over the year. I know that I would not have been able to get threw it without God's help. He has walked with me every step of the way. I know that we are not the only family hurting and struggling these days. I pray each night for others in the same place. I have had people say why don't you get a job outside of the home. Well, I like my craft business, and for me to get a job I would have to work the grave yard shift. It would not pay to pay a someone to watch my kids while I work, that would be the money I am trying to make for us. With my hubbys hours that start at 7:30 and there is no set ending time each day Mon thru Fri, then on Sat it is 1:30 am till 10 am He just can't be here when I would work, and then when would we have our family time. What I hate the most is that Hubby works so hard and I don't think he is valued at his job. I have know others that work there, have received a raise in the last couple of years but do way way so less of work then my husband. See I could go on and on and on...... Just over worried about it today need to write and get it off my chest as they say. I know things will get better someday and if not , I have everything I need anyways. Great Husband , 4 kids that I adore and love and I beautiful grandaughter. Who could ask for anything more....Colleen

Hi everyone! Time has just been flying by and I have not been able to work on the computer or my crafts like I want too!! I hope to get working on crafts again this week and more free blog templates and templates for Ebay. When the kids went back to school I thought I would get to work on my crafts and templates more, but I have been doing all those chores around the house that during those summer days you just don't get around to. So today I really wanted to finish up two free blog templates and I did!! I even have one to list on Ebay tomorrow. It feels good to do it again. :)

Quiet in the house....

My kids went back to school yesterday and my house is so quiet! I miss there voice's ,the sound of them playing. Oh don't get me wrong I do enjoy the peace of the house but I do miss my kids. I am working on a new free template so hope to have that posted soon. And I am working on templates for christmas, some halloween items yet and some more free graphics to use on blogs. After the holiday weekend, I need to get working. LOL I have some pictures that I had taken the last couple of weeks and today I played with this one today.... I had snap the shot of the sunset on our way home from visiting with my older children. It was such a pretty sunset. Then I added one of my favorite writings...
